At one fateful floor meeting in frigid February, Conner 2 was holding floor elections. Someone, probably Ruth, decided that the proceedings were taking too long, and decreed unilaterally that the position of social chair would be occupied by any individual whose name began with the letters Laur*.

Thus Laur* (pronounced "Laur-Star") was born, a four-headed beast consisting of the best attributes of Laura Nicholson, Laura Meyer, Lauren Montemayor, and Lauren Oldja.

This designation mitigated the confusion caused by having four people with virtually identical first names living on the floor. Previously, they had been nicknamed Laura 1.0, Laura 2.0, FGS Lauren, and Lauren Ohhhhhhhhh, respectively.
