FGS

From Conner 2

The class of 2010 on Conner 2 includes five females who have formed a rather close-knit group, beginning in part with a Pre-Orientation week in Yellowstone. Together, they are fond of girly movies, bake-your-own french fries, korean dramas, and assorted other hobbies which cause many floor residents to scratch their heads in wonder and, perhaps, disgust. In the 2006-07 school year, this group made its home in 213A, such that visitors, family members and study partners knew they would often find the girls here, rather than in their assigned rooms. This room became a gathering place for friends and neighbors studying for 18.03 tests or exchanging massages.

In order to simplify nomenclature around the floor, and reduce unnecessary communication, several upperclassmen (okay, it was mostly Sam and Ruth) began referring to this group as the Freshman Girl Squad (referring to the Homestarrunner.com sub-cartoon "Teen Girl Squad"), rapidly shortened to the FGS. This is unlikely to change even as the girls, having successfully completed a year at MIT, advance to the rank of sophomore.

Wesley has taken on the delicate position of Ambassador to the FGS, which primarily involves translating their squeaks and chirps into floor lounge reservations for "How I Met Your Mother" and "Veronica Mars." In this capacity, he has earned himself the nickname, "The Ugly One!!"

The FGS currently comprises Sung Kim, Kiki Maiorca, Laura Meyer, Lauren Montemayor, and Clara Stefanov-Wagner.
