Origins
In January 2007 Ruth decreed that her 224-warming party needed to have a live band. For weeks she scoured the dorm for spare drum equipment, microphones, basses, tambourines, and various other musical instruments to facilitate this. In the end, she found nothing, necessitating the formation of a band utilizing only the instruments already available in Mevdor's room. Thus Tangularity was born.
Shows
Tangularity's first gig was a blazing one-song set at Ruth's housewarming party in January 2007. The group's approximation of "Bohemian Rhapsody" was featured on Burton-Conner's 2007 I3 video, behind footage of Bombers playing ice hockey.
Tangularity played back-to-back shows in May 2007, the first for Ruth's birthday party and the second the following afternoon for senior lunch. Sam's performance of "Creep" was so passionate that he was unable to talk for two days following these festivities.
Tangularity reformed in November 2007 to play what is now considered their best-known gig. The show closed with a seven-minute rendition of "I Am A Sad Sad Toaster Made Of Glass" was released as a direct-to-video single and has received dozens of hits on YouTube--almost twice as many as Shifty's freestyle rap "Where Have All The Orange Lockers Gone?"
